Obituary of Christopher Poirier

Christopher H. Poirier, 73, of Zion, Illinois passed away on April 14, 2023 in Waukegan, Illinois. He was born November 14,1949 in Chicago, Illinois.

Christopher married Diane Kaminski on August 27, 2005 at the Navel Chapel in North Chicago. Christopher retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 26 years of service in the Navy.  After retiring from the Navy he worked as a carpenter  for PWC, Naval Station Great Lakes. In his spare time, Christopher loved woodworking, cooking, gardening and spending time with friends. He adored his two  grandchildren.  

Christopher is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Lee (Kimn) Poirier and Cassandra (Greg) Kite; grandchildren Riley Kite and Kylie Kite; brother Mark (Susan) Poirier; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

 
 Christopher was preceded in death by his daughter Jacqueline Poirier and his parents Donald and Lorraine Poirier.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday May, 13th starting at 1:00 pm at the VFW, 1112 Sheridan Rd, Winthrop Harbor, IL. Dress is casual, and Hawaiian shirts (Chris' favorite) are appreciated
