Obituary of Lasse Enqvist

Lasse Henrik Enqvist, 75, of Park City, Illinois, passed away on February 19, 2023, in Libertyville, Illinois. 

 

Lasse was born September 13, 1947, in Myrskyla, Finland to Aarvo and Alisa Enqvist.   After moving to the United States, Lasse worked as a carpenter and eventually started his own business building and remodeling homes.  As the owner and operator of Enqvist Carpentry, Lasse built a reputation of unmatched quality in the homes he built and was committed to providing his clients with the very best for over 40 years.  He was always ready to help with a “no problem” attitude towards everyone and always had time to help his family, friends, and business clients when they needed him.  Lasse was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Lasse is survived by his wife, Eija Enqvist; children, Henrik (Heather) Enqvist and Alisa (Justin) Perlut; grandchildren, Aksel Enqvist, Olin Enqvist, and Nathan Perlut; siblings, Anni Malmi, and Mirjam Hamalainen; brother-in-law Markku Rantasalmi; and many nieces and nephews in both Finland and America.

Lasse is preceded in death by his parents, Aarvo and Alisa Enqvist; sisters, Armi Kalenius, Pirkko Broman, and Maija Martikainen; father-in-law, Eino Rantasalmi; and mother-in-law, Paula Rantasalmi.
