Obituary of Judy Richards

Judy Richards, 72, a lifelong resident of Zion, went to be with her heavenly father on Monday, February 27 in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Judy was born on October 7, 1950 in Waukegan, IL, and was a devoted member of Village Church of Gurnee. She worked for several years in the offices of Christian Catholic Church (now Christ Community Church) and Zion-Benton Township High School, but her favorite place to be was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband Steve Richards of Beach Park, IL; son, Scott (Jacqueline) Richards; son, Mark Richards; daughter, Shonda (Rod) Valdez; daughter, Stephanie Richards; seven grandchildren, Bryce Richards, Marissa Richards, Malea Valdez, Ani Valdez, Xander Valdez, Carys Valdez, and Michele Novelli; brother, H. Jay (Kathy) Warren of Fort Wayne, IN; and many loved ones and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Warren in 1986 and Margaret Warren in 2008.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Village Church of Gurnee 1319 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. Pastor David Giese of Village Church of Gurnee will be officiating in collaboration with Pastor Greg Seghers of ZEMA. Visitation will precede the memorial service at 10:00 a.m.
