Obituary of Margaret McGillivray

Margaret “Maggie” L McGillivray, of Bristol, Wisconsin passed away January 24, 2023, in Racine, Wisconsin. She was born January 19, 1947, to Marvin and Lorene Cowart in Waukegan, Illinois.

Maggie is a graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School. A member of the United Methodist Church in Zion, IL. She worked for many years as a telephone operator. Through out those years she lived in Winthrop Harbor and Zion, IL and Kenosha, WI.

She loved visiting with friends and family, spending time with her grandsons and planting flowers. she loved traveling out West with her husband in their motor home. Maggie will always be remembered for her ability to shop till you drop! 

Maggie is survived by her children, George McGillivray Jr, Denise (Jason) Ruedebusch and Richard McGillivray; grandchildren, Devin McGillivray, William Sooley, Richard McGillivray, Lukas McGillivray and Camron McGillivray and Brother, Doug Cowart.

She is Preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lorene Cowart; husband, George; brothers, James, Gene, Ellie and Jerry; sisters, Ann, Johnnie, Ocene and Barb.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the Congdon Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be private at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.
