Obituary of Donna Louise Safley

Donna Louise Safley, age 71, of Zion, IL, passed away on December 16, 2022. Donna was born in Waukegan, IL, to Anthony “Tony” Faraone and Jessie Drury Faraone. Her sister Linda Ruth Green preceded her in death, and she is survived by her nieces Anna Blackburn and Ruth Tutor as well as great-nieces and grand-nephews.

Donna’s life was filled with enthusiasm for her dear friends and family members. She worked many years as an office administrator and later in life became a caregiver to the elderly. But her true joy was her involvement with Mis-Shifts Car Club, where she volunteered her time as the Treasurer and helped organize charity fundraiser car shows. Her last in a series of hot rods was her 1975 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am which she proudly drove to and displayed at the shows.

In celebration of Donna’s life, this spring there will be one last scoop of the loop in Waukegan with the ‘Bird’ leading the procession.  Please email to RallyForDonna@gmail.com to receive celebration updates.
