What a beautifully written love story. Altho' I do not know Lydia (or any of the family members) ~ it so reminded me of my own deceased parents who immigrated from Europe. They did not know each other in Yugoslavia; however, in the U.S. someone told my father about my mother; they met & the rest is history. A generation gone by of the most beautiful human beings God put on this earth ~ so kind, so caring, so compassionate, door always open & offerings of whatever food they had to whoever came through their doorway. I recently read this: "BECAUSE THOSE WE LOVE DON'T GO AWAY . . . THEY WALK BESIDE US EVERYDAY . . . UNSEEN, UNHEARD, BUT ALWYS NEAR . . . STILL LOVED, STILL MISSED & VERY DEAR".
