Obituary of Betty Severs
Betty Severs, 91, born July 11, 1931 in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois passed away on November 7. 2022 in Charleston, South Carolina
Betty’s family and friends were most precious to her. She enjoyed spending time with her family loved nothing more than being present in her children, grand children, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren lives. She lived in the home she grew up in for 83 years in Winthrop Harbor. Betty began waitressing at the age of 14. During that time, she worked at Louie’s Italian in Waukegan Illinois, Waukegan Yacht Club, Home Café in Zion Illinois, and Zion Dairy. She married her husband Donald L. Severs on November 27, 1956. Betty was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great Grandmother. Spending time with her family was what she loved most.
Betty is survived by her children Bob (Debbie) Cardinal and Cindy (Dave) Thomas; 17 grandchildren Angie (Andy) Green, Tamara (Jeremy) Boone, Michael (Trinity) Cardinal, Matt (Heidi) Cardinal, Dustin Cardinal, Kyle (Tara) Cardinal, Cara (Kyle) Derry, Robert Meyers, Thazin Meyers, Shelagh (Cory) Meyers, Katie (Spencer) Regalado, Jennifer Young, Jeffrey Baxter, Mary (Brandon) Reid, Jeremy (Kathleen) Thomas, Nathan (Stephanie) Thomas, Bethany (A.J.) St.Aubin and Sarah Dixon; 36 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Betty is preceded in death by her mother Ruth Grace Warmooth; husband Donald L. Severs; children Michael Cardinal, Kathy Meyers and Donna Baxter; Grandson Scott Meyers; and great grandchild Anthony Young.
Chapel service at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, 1436 Kenosha road, Zion Illinois, will take place on November 19th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Roper Hospice Care.
