Obituary of Avalyn Cappelen

Avalyn Marie Cappelen, 93, entered her heavenly home on November 24, 2022, in Ventura, California.

"Tootie" was born in Zion, Illinois on September 1, 1929, to Mamie and Walter Ruesch.

She is survived by her children, Susan Sherrow (Mike) and John Cappelen (Sue). Grandchildren, Sally Priebus (Reince, great grandchildren Jack and Grace), Luke Sherrow, Jordan Sherrow (Kristi), and Joshua Cappelen (Jennifer, great grandsons, John James, Joshua John Jr), and sister-in-law Betty Ruesch, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John; sisters, Dorothy, Helen (Dallas Evans), and brother, Harold Ruesch.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois. Public viewing at 9:30 a.m. Private interment will be at the Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago.
