Obituary of Joseph Stoffle
Joseph Stoffle Jr., age 80, of Shore Line Terrace, Beach Park, died on Monday, October 30, 2006 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Joseph was born May 30, 1926 in Chicago. Being legally blind his entire life, Joseph completed his education at Illinois School for the Blind and went on to learn piano tuning from Hadley School for the Blind. He was first employed by the Chicago Board of Education as a piano tuner. Later, he was employed at a piano store downtown Chicago where he tuned pianos for delivery to customers. He also tuned pianos for RCA Studios in Chicago. In 1970 he moved to Beach Park where he lived independently.
Survivors include his twin brother John (Harriet) Stoffle of Kenosha; one sister Elsie Holleck of Virginia; and five nieces Karen Pugsley, Patricia Onak, Nancy Gauss, Linda Richardson and Therese Nelson
He was preceded in death by two sisters Eleanor Stoffle and Katherine Malstrom; and his parents Joseph Sr. and Katherine Stoffle.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Deacon Mike Mercure of Our Lady of Humility Church officiating. Interment will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery, Rivergrove, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, masses said for Joseph would be appreciated.
