Obituary of John Stolarik

John L. Stolarik, 86, of Zion, IL passed away on October 21, 2022 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, IL.   He was born on July 30, 1936 in North Chicago, IL the son of John and Florence Stolarik.

John worked for Johns Manville for forty-four years before he retired. He was a member of Bonnie Brook Golf Course for more than seventy years, and a former Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus.

John loved being outdoors, he was a passionate golfer, fisherman and gardener.  John loved playing golf and competing in golf couples tournaments alongside his wife DeAnne.  They traveled together, competed and played golf in 48 of the 50 states as well as Scotland. He also enjoyed sharing his excess tomatoes with his family, friends, and neighbors. 

John is survived by his wife of over 22 years DeAnne Stolarik; children, Kim-Ann Johns, Kathleen Dermane, Kelly Dickson, Michael Stolarik; mother of John’s children Yvonne Stolarik; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Kaye) Stolarik, Roger (Dianne) Stolarik, Wayne ( Cindy) Stolarik, Derrick (Insuk) Stolarik, and sister Lisa (Kenneth) Creamer.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Florence Stolarik; siblings, Joseph Stolarik, Kenneth Stolarik, Beverly Becker, Sharon Thomas, Candice Vole.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 9:00 - 11 :00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099.  Luncheon will follow at noon. Interment will be private.
