Obituary of Sandra Post

Sandra K. Post, 75, of Zion, IL passed away on September 26, 2022. She was born on July 22, 1947 in Waukegan, IL the daughter of Dan and Eva (nee Hamel) Vines. 

Sandra graduated from Zion Benton High School, then shortly after married her husband on January 15, 1966. She worked as a title and license administrator for Palmers Automotive before she retired.

Sandra enjoyed making flower arrangements, planning weddings, making wedding cakes, and canning vegetables. She was very involved in her church and was the church treasurer. Sandra was a very generous person, she never hesitated helping those in need. Her biggest love was for her family and making sure they were taken care of on the holidays, and throughout the year.

She is survived by her children, Gary Wayne (Mae) Post, Pamela O'Dell, Brian Shane (Chassidee) Post; grandchildren, Daniel (Lauren) Post, Brian Elder, Angela (Tae) Simpson, Sierrena Post, Tamber Post, Nancy (Billy) Hatton, Crystal (Melvin) Kilgore, Michael 'Biddy' Williams; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers Jerry (Sandy) Vines, Roger (Helen) Vines; goddaughter Sonia Stankiewicz; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband Gary W. Post; parents; four great-grandchildren; and sister Gay (Harold) Brown.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a service at 10:00 a.m., at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, in Zion, IL.
