My condolences to the family of an amazing person. Ms. Johnson was truly a pillar and trailblazer to our community and to all that crossed her path. She taught 3 of our little people at Greenwood School and we all are heart broken by her loss. God bless you, "job well done, good and faithful servant" May her memory continue on. Thank you for investing in our children and your bright and lovely smile.

Nancy, or as she was lovingly called “JC”, was and always will be one of the most wonderful people I have known. She was caring, intelligent and beautiful – inside and out. Her joy and love of life would light up a room when she entered. She had that radiating Johnson smile that shone through her entire being. Her laugh was infectious, and her facial expressions were legendary. She was so funny and witty. I was always awestruck by the way she could talk to anyone and make them smile. I loved to quietly watch her interact with people. She loved nature and people. Her love showed in her teaching. I hope the children she taught and the people she worked with realized the treasure she was.

Nancy "JC" was one of the best people I have ever known. Always a smile, a good word, or her famous silly faces. I will miss her more than I can express. My heart goes out to all her family. You are in my thoughts and prayers every day, as is she. So many trips, playing volleyball, etc., Too many too many to mention, but all lasting memories.Mrs. Johnson, mom to me, thank you for all our time spent together.Hugs and much love to you.

Nancy was known to all her volleyball buddies as “J.C.”…we had so much fun on the court and off the court. She had an infectious laugh, a wonderful personality, and she cherished her friendships…I’ve known her for 40 years and will greatly miss her for the rest of my life.

While I only met Nancy 9 years ago, she made a big impression on me – vivacious, warm, earnest, caring and blessed with a love of life and laughter. Her choice of teaching as a career undoubtedly benefited many hundreds of students as she inspired them to see their young world in terms of wonderful possibilities. That, in addition to her devotion to family and friends, serves as a legacy all of us would aspire to leave. I know Nancy will be truly missed by all who knew her, but will also count themselves as so fortunate to have known such a fine individual. My sincerest condolences to her mother Lelia, and to all her dear family.

Nancy was a queen in the latest of technology, she knew everything! And she was always ready to teach and to keep learning about it. But most of all, I will remember her laughing, so contagious! It was a privilege to know her and to work with her. Rest In Peace.

Nancy Johnson was someone who was impossible to forget. If you were fortunate enough to have known her you were truly blessed. She was so full of life and her demeanor was infectious. As a teacher and co-worker she was unparalleled. The salt of the earth whose smile and laughter lit up the room. To have been one of her “shortcakes” or even one of her “knuckle-boneheads” was to know that she cared about you, as she did all of her students, and she had your back through the smooth times and the rough times. To have worked with Nancy was a privilege. She led by both example and expertise. A lifelong learner who was able to make her fellow adults and her students believe they were capable of accomplishments greater than they ever dreamed. I know the phrase, “gone too soon”, is often overused but in Nancy’s case it is a sad truth. Those of us who crossed paths with Nancy in any capacity are better for it and it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to one of the finest human beings ever. I, for one, will miss her immensely but I will never, ever forget her. RIP, friend. Love, Judy Lafferty
