Obituary of Sandra Hermanson

Sandra "Sandy" Mae Hermanson (nee Johnson),79, passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2022.  She was born on May 30, 1943 in Iron River, Michigan, the daughter of Oscar and Lilly Johnson. 
 
Sandy was the second youngest out of her six brothers, and sisters. Sandy moved to Waukegan, IL in the early sixties where she met her husband while working at North Shore Gas Company. She then went to work at the V.A Hospital in North chicago, IL until she retired in 1995. Her and Bud moved back to Iron River to enjoy retirement, where she would volunteer  at the Iron River Animal Shelter. She and Bud would go on yearly trips to Wyoming, where Bud would go hunting.  Sandy was an avid photographer and loved taking pictures of nature and collecting rocks. She also loved doing home improvement projects such as refinishing old wooden items. Sandy also loved spending time with her family and friends.  Sandy and Bud lived in Iron River until his passing and 2021, and she returned to live with her son and his fiance. 
Sandy is survived by her son Keith Hermanson of Zion, Illinois and his Fiance Dawn  Gonyo; several nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years Bernard "Bud" Hermanson;parents, six siblings. 
 
No services will be held.
