Obituary of James Hogan

James L Hogan, age 87, passed away suddenly on the morning of July 13, 2022 at home, in his garden.

Jim is the beloved uncle of Barbara (Michael) DiPierro and Mary Ann (Steve) Sorenson. He is also survived by cousins Patricia Hogan and Mary Loretta Knight and long time neighbor and friend Jose Aviles.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Ann (Carroll) Hogan and sister Ann Hogan Ross and his brother-in-law Earl Ross.

Jim grew up and spent his life in Waukegan other than time away for college (U of IL, BS Agriculture) and the military (Medic, US Army, Cold War Veteran, Germany). He loved gardening and nature, birds especially ducks, and classical music. He is remembered as a deeply kind human being and a smart, yet humble man.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at, Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, IL 60099. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
