Obituary of Ramon Montano

Ramon Montano 84 of Winthrop Harbor, IL went to be with the Lord on Saturday May 21,2022 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville, IL with his loved ones by his side. He was born on April 8,1938 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He moved to Waukegan with his mother and siblings at the age of 13. He lived in the Waukegan and Zion areas for almost 40 years until he retired from Komat’su (formerly International Harvester), where he worked as a welder. After retiring he moved to Tampa Florida for almost 30 years. He was a long time member of the Puerto Rican Society. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Justa Isabel Montano; daughters Juanita (Jack) Whyte, Wanda Montano, and Helena (Humberto) Gallego ; step-children Ramon Rivera, Iris Violet Rivera Ruiz and Javier Rivera; brother Marcos Montano; several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ramon Montano and Marcelina Lopez; brothers Ladislao, Edwin, Victor, Fernando, Miguel Montano; sister Maria; daughter Madeline (Gina) Diaz; grandson Steven Montano and great grandson Christopher Ramon Montano. Visitation will be at Congdon Funeral home 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion IL on Wednesday June 1,2022 from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
