Obituary of Leonard LeRoy Stang

Leonard LeRoy Stang, 85, 0f Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away on April 13, 2022. Leonard was born February 21, 1937 in Waukegan, IL. He graduated from Waukegan High School with the class of 1955. Leonard married Dorothy Daavettila on September 5, 1959. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Leonard loved the outdoors and spent his time riding motorcycles, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his children, LeRoy (Kay) Stang, David (Laura) Stang, Daniel Stang, and Timothy (Sue) Stang; grandchildren, Dustin, Calvin, Jennifer, Jonathan, Tim (Miranda),Tom, and Rachel (Noel); great-grandchildren, Madison, Haley, and Josephine ; and a sister, Barbara (Larry) Huesing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cordelia and LeRoy Stang; wife, Dorothy; and grandchildren, Andrew and Erin. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. The visitation will continue on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at The First Apostolic Lutheran Church, 39372 Carol Lane, Beach Park, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL.
