Obituary of Christine Gann

Christine Gann (Morales),72, of Waukegan, IL passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Christine was born on January 2, 1950 in Waukegan, IL. She lived most of her life in Zion and Waukegan area. Christine attended Zion Benton Township High School, and attended the Zion Church of God where she was baptized. She lived over in Hamilton, Alabama for a short time where she learned to cook southern food. She learned to make home made biscuits, sweet tea, fried okra, especially on a cast iron pan. She loved to cook and spend time with family and friends. She made her own Christmas day tradition of baking home made Lasagna and garlic bread for her family. Her grand kids are going to keep her tradition of making Lasagna. She loved to teach her kids and grandkids traditions of making memories. Christine was a fun, loving, comical and friendly person. She had a heart of gold. She loved her family dearly. Even during her time of illness, she always remained loving and kept her sense of humor. She taught her children to love, be kind and respectful to others. She loved to teach her grandkids long life lessons and give advice. Christine is survived by her 2 children, Roger Gann of Muscles Shoals, Ala, and Jennifer (Javier) Lopez of Waukegan, IL; grandchildren, James "JJ" Lopez and Joselyn "Jo" Lopez; sister April (Jim) Frasure; step-siblings Daniel (Rebecca) Kegley, Robert "Bobby" Kegley, Diana Leech, and Mike "Mikey" (Pam) Kegley; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; sister in laws, brother in laws, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Rosemary Kegley (Miller), father Gregory Morales, step-father Charles Kegley Sr. , sister Joann Prentice , half brother Charles Kegley Jr., and step-sister Charlotte Johnson. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Loving Care Hospice and doctors for their compassionate care. A memorial service for Christine will be held at a later date in Hamilton, Alabama
