Obituary of Allen C Thomas

Allen C. Thomas died on March 6, 2022. He was born June 21, 1932, in Chicago, IL. to Sucvedes and Marguerite Thomas and was raised in North Chicago and Waukegan, IL. Allen was a proud U.S. Marine and in 1953 he married A. Jane Zeilbeck. They had 5 children. Gary (Rozanne) Thomas, Dave (Cindy)Thomas, Dan (Linda) Thomas, Kathy Anderson and Larry Thomas. He worked for Commonwealth Edison for 41 years before retiring in 1992. He loved to travel, and he and Jane owned several campers and spent their winters in Texas. For some unknown reason, he was a Green Bay Packer fan in a house of Bear fans. Allen is survived by his wife of almost 69 years Jane; brother, Clyde (Shirley) Thomas; sister, Nancy Palbicke; grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Katharine (David) Chen, Kirsten (Brandon) Sierra, Jeremy (Kathleen) Thomas, Nathan (Stephanie) Thomas, Bethany (AJ) St Aubin, Sarah Dixon, Aaron (Melissa) Garske, Dane (Jen) Thomas, Isaac Thomas, Mary Jones, Lynn Watson, Alex Fabiano, and Zachary Thomas; great grandchildren, Lucia and Evelyn Thomas, Lila Chen, Ryker and Beckett Sierra, Kiernan and Rowan Thomas, Alex Carr and Madeline Thomas, Jonah, Eli and Gabriel St Aubin, Abi Dixon, Lola Thomas and Danika Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Matthew Sutton and sister Linda (Jerry) Ozzie. Visitation will be Saturday, March 12th from 10 to 12 at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park, IL. with a Mass of Christian Burial, at 12 pm. Interment will be private for the family. Thank you to Vista East Hospital, Suncrest Hospice care and especially Allen's granddaughter Lynn Sutton for providing excellent care in his final days.
