Obituary of Ida Marie Shaffer

Ida Marie Shaffer, 79, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away peacefully at her home on February 18, 2022. She was born March 26, 1942 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of John Shaffer and Lettie (VerHagen)(Weir) Shaffer. Ida was married to and divorced from Eugene Matz (deceased). Married and divorced from Robert Bueckner (Deceased). Married 3 times, divorced 2 times to/from Gerald 'Curly' Bobrick, with the most recent marriage on July 22, 2016. Curly preceded her in death on September 27, 2017. Ida had worked at Cherry Electric in Waukegan, IL as a general laborer. The Park City Illinois Police Dept as a dispatcher and Mattrion. The Park City IL Mobile Home Park as a secretary. Adams/Friendship Adult Home as a health aid. The job she enjoyed the most was waitressing at Zion Star Lite Restaurant. Ida was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Pleasant Prairie and Fath Center Church when she lived in Antigo, WI. She enjoyed house plants, gardening, collecting angel figurines, and driving to visit family and friends. However, anyone who knew her knows that her coffee and cigarettes were her mainstays. Ida is survived by a son, John (Shirley) Matz and a daughter Phyllis (Ron) Kozlowski. Grandchildren: Eugene, Nathan, April, Michael, Karla, Robert, and Emma. Great grandchildren: Marcus, Seth, and Leiden. Siblings: Dorothy Richling, Thomas Weir, Lila Boyd, Sophie (Richard) Henke Sr, Beverly Faust, Bonnie Henke, Connie (Virgil) Adkins, Denise (Dale) MeKash, and Henry (Donna) Leiskau. Many nieces, nephews, friends, and her dog Baby. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband's Eugene Matz and Robert Bueckner, husband Gerald 'Curly' Bobrick. Her sisters: Lettie Joyce Weir and Ruth Larson. Her brother George Leiskau. Her brother-in-laws: Robert Richling, Terry Boyd, Larry Faust, Hans Larson, and Brian Henke. A grand daughter Melissa Matz. Per Ida's request there will not be a service. However, there may be a memorial held at a later date.
