Obituary of Everett Allen Combs

Everett Allen Combs, born June 18, 1958 in Zion, IL to Edward Combs and Virginia May Grubbs (Phil). Everett passed away on February 14, 2022, at Condell Medical Center. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved the Chicago Bears and Cubs, fishing and camping. He went to Gateway college in WI to become a mechanic. He worked on cars for many years and fixed a lot of family and friends cars for free because that was the kind of guy he was; he always thought of others. He was also employed at Ozite Corporation for many years. In his older years he was stubborn and would tell you what was on his mind, and then some. Everett is survived by his sons, Charles Combs, Lil Everett Combs: daughter-in-law, Cassie, Layla Branyik; siblings, Mary (Mark) Peterson, Sandy (David Jr.) Morphew, Maxine Billick, David Grubbs, James (Dawn) Combs, Robert (Jessica) Combs, Carla (Dwayne) Karrow, Heather (Osaid) Karmash; brother-in-law, Scott Adolphs; grandchildren, CJ “little man”, Miraliki, Darrien; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by fathers, Edward Combs and Phil Grubbs; mother, Virginia Grubbs; sister, Marcy Adolphs; sons, Vincent Branyik, Jr., Robert Gibson; and daughter, Esther Combs. Visitation will be held February 19, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a service at 5:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099.
