May the warm memories you have of Al soothe you in this difficult time and help you be at peace. He always had a smile on his face and a friendly word to say to everyone! I worked with Al at Tempel years ago and can still remember his welcoming presence. My prayers are with you all.

To the Rioux family, you have my most sincere sympathy. I've known Al for 40+ years having worked with him at Tempel Steel. Al was one of the most gracious individuals I've ever met, honest to a fault and always a gentleman. He will be greatly missed by all the people he touched throughout his lifetime.

Pam, the children and friends. Death is so rude. It was never meant to be ... but knowing Al's faith in The Lord Jesus, we know we shall see him again. While each of us will miss Al in our own special way, we can all be comforted by knowing that Al is with Jesus and those who have gone on before - worshipping with the angels. Al plowed a deep furrow in the life of those whom he touched. His winsome ways and clear faith in God was a welcome to all who knew him. Notice of Al's death has been sent out on the net to prayer warriors world wide; so each one of you is being prayed for by many in God's family whom Al loved deeply from many parts of the world. We are sad, but with our faith in The Lord Jesus we are not overcome. We will continue to pray for you. rg

Dear Pam and Family - We send our heartfelt sympathy to all of you and want you to know what an impact your husband and father has made on the lives of our family. As we've read the comments made by others, we find that we are not alone in being favored with his loving kindness - so much like the Savior he patterned his mission in life after. We shall always remember the man who took a young engineer under his wing, nurtured him in not only the Tempel way but the way of the Lord. A prayer answered for David's family! Pam, we shall always cherish your spending what came to be your last New Years Eve with Al with us in Southern Illinois and will always remember the beautiful prayer of blessing he gave at the rehearsal dinner. Just another indication of his loving care for others. David's 85 year old veteran grandfather was so moved by the mementos of his WWII group, Merrill's Marauders, that Al brought to him and they will always have a place of honor in our family - because a man who did not even know the veteran would care enough to honor him in this way. May God grant you physical healing and comfort in His love. To the kids - your dad was a special man - cherish his memory and continue in the faith he not only believed but lived to the fullest extent. God Bless You All.

I had planned to express my condolences in person, but I am unable to do so.I knew Al from the Thursday night A.A. meeting. His strength of conviction and stability of sobriety were an inspiration to me.Even though I have not seen him for a few years,it seems as if it was only recently that we shared our experinces with each other. To put it simply,"To know him is to love him."
