Obituary of George Steve Carnick

George Steve Carnick, 85, of Zion, IL passed away peacefully on February 9, 2022. He was born on September 27, 1936 in Waukegan, IL, the son of Steve G. and Helen Carnick. George previously resided in Gurnee, IL and Wadsworth, IL. He graduated from Waukegan High school and attended the University of Illinois before working as a salesman in the electronics industry. George was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wadsworth, IL. George loved to golf, fish, and spend time with his family and friends. George is survived by his wife, Marcia (nee Lenda) Carnick; children, Thomas (Denise) Carnick, John (Jill) Carnick, and JoAnne (Roger) Verne; grandchildren, Eric (Fern) Carnick, Lauren (Matthew) Newquist, Catie and Allison Carnick, Jessica (David) Whitmore, and Alyssa and Abigail Verne; five great-grandchildren, Drew, Cecelia, Claire, Jack, and Ellie; brother Nick Carnick; nephews Gary Lenda and Joe Lenda; niece, Shelly Lenda. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Rd, Wadsworth, IL 60083.
