Obituary of Kathleen Barnes

Kathleen Barnes, 69, of Zion, IL, passed away suddenly on February 1, 2022. Kathleen was born February 20, 1952 in Chicago, IL to Lawrence and Carol Edgar. She attended St Joseph's Catholic Church and School in Wheeling, IL, and graduated from Wheeling High School. Kathleen married William Barnes on May 18, 1988. Kathleen enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader. She is survived by her children, Eric (Teena) Edgar, and Glena (Brian) Smith; step-children, Melinda (Mike) Krerowicz, and Jeannette Barnes; and a step-son-in-law Ignacio Montes; grandchildren, Aiden, Tim, Stephanie, Spencer, and Cody; brothers, Matt (Dale) Edgar, Chris (Karen) Edgar, and Marty (Jodi) Edgar. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lawrence and Carol Edgar; brother, Mike Edgar; husband, William; and step-daughter, Kristina Montes. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family.
