Obituary of Joanne Castillo

Joanne M. Castillo (nee Schwalbe), 86, passed away at home on January 8, 2022. Joanne was born to Walter and Genevieve (nee Lange) Schwalbe on November 9, 1935 in LaCrosse, WI. When she was young, the family moved to Waukegan, IL. She graduated from Waukegan High School in 1952. She was married to Daniel E. Castillo and they were married for 53 years. She worked at Warwick in the 1960s and at Victory Memorial Hospital from 1980 until 1990. She was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church and belonged to the Moose Lodge 667. Joanne is survived by three daughters, Jeanne (Wayne) Hanson, Julie(Steven) Crye, Jennifer Castillo; sons, John (Debi) Castillo, James Castillo, Daniel (Darlene) Castillo; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed in 2019, parents, sister Jeanne Needham; brothers, Walter Schwalbe, John Schwalbe.
