Obituary of Gail Dawn O'Neill

Gail O'Neill (Nee Muro) 70 years old of Beach Park, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by her family December 9th, 2021, at Lake Forest Hospital. She was born July 7th, 1951, in Waukegan, the daughter of the late Rudolph & Alice Muro. She married Emmett O'Neill on October 2, 1971. Emmett preceded her in death in March 2017 after 45 years of marriage. Gail’s sisters Tana Guyot and Nancy Wise also preceded her. Gail was a lifetime resident of Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan High School. Gail retired from West's Insurance Agency May 15, 2018 after 40 years of dedication as a Customer Service Rep. Gail was always reliable and dependable, and she loved her job. All of her colleagues knew that she was the "Go to Gail”. Gail enjoyed reading and baking. She baked cakes for her family and colleagues on their birthdays, gave her friends her famous walnut pumpkin bread, and made bereavement desserts for St. Dismas Catholic Church. Gail always put others before herself. She supported, encouraged, and loved her family and friends unconditionally. She is survived by her children; beloved son and best friend Rick O'Neill of Beach Park, IL, and stepdaughter Barbara (Jim) Kennedy of Wind Lake, WI, and her sister Lynda Muro of Zion, IL., grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Gail's wishes were not to have services held. She wants you to remember her by the fond and happy memories you shared with her.
