Obituary of Ray Alan Spaid, Sr.

Ray A. Spaid, passed away at the age of 65, on December 1, 2021, at Vista Hospital in Waukegan IL. Ray was born on January 31, 1956, in Waukegan IL. He is survived by his younger brother, Tom Spaid; son, Jason Mattox; daughter, Christy Spaid; and grandchildren, Willie, D.J, Relius and Grayson. Ray was known to posses many talents from auto mechanics, engineering, fabricating, carpentry and was even a self-taught painter. He was known among friends and family to help anyone out no matter day or night, it didn’t matter if he just had back surgery, he would help you with your car or even come help with your flooded basement. He has always been willing to do anything for almost anyone if he could. He was such a family man, all he wanted to do with his grandkids was fly drones, go fishing and do wood shop projects. They will surely miss him and their ability to learn and grow from him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray A. Spaid Sr. and Barbara E.
