Obituary of Jacqueline Brown
Jacqueline Elizabeth Brown (nee Petrosky) joined her Lord and Savior on November 23rd, 2021. Although she will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends, our family is assured that she is in Heaven, in the loving arms of Jesus, and reunited with her beloved husband, Louie and her eldest son, Steve.
She was born in Waukegan, Illinois to Elizabeth and John Petrosky. She attended Zion schools and graduated from Zion Benton in 1953. In high school, she met the love of her life, Franklin (Louis) Brown while working at the Dune's Theatre together. They were married in 1954 and were blessed with six children. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. She was also a caregiver for children in her home, and a volunteer for senior citizens within her community. While in Zion, she considered Our Savior's Lutheran Church as her home, and she loved teaching little ones about Jesus in Sunday school. She worked tirelessly for her Christian family for more than twenty years. In 1979, God led Jackey and Louie to Lakeland, Florida, where they became members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and choir. Jackey loved assisting with weddings, fundraisers, and other church activities. Her volunteer work at the Talbot House gave refuge to the homeless and helped countless members of the community. Jackey had a passion for leading others to Christ so that they may have eternal life, and she spent her entire life being a Christian example to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Robert (Georgia) Brown, Peggy Welch, Alan (Kris) Brown, David (Shirley) Brown, and Timothy (Karyn) Brown. She adored her ten grandchildren Dustin, Megan, Ashley, Ryan, Jacquie, Trevor, Matthew, Aaron, McKenna, Lindsay and her twelve great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Lynn Terry Petrosky, sister-in-law Mary Roberts, brother-in-law Donald Roberts, many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and John Petrosky; her loving husband, Louie Brown; sister, Sandra Petrosky Nelson; and her son, Steven Brown.
