Obituary of Laura J. Roteman Walley

Laura Roteman Walley, 64, of Gurnee, IL passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Laura was born April 3, 1957 in Highland Park, IL to Robert and Marlene Roteman. She grew up in Waukegan, IL and was employed as an Executive Assistant with Lake County Community Development for many years. On August 16, 1980, she married the love of her life, Ronald Walley and together they made Gurnee their home. Laura was a kind person that loved animals. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States. Laura is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Ronald Walley; mother, Marlene Roteman; brothers, Andrew (Denise) Roteman of Goleta, CA and David (Katherine) Roteman of Salem, OR; uncle, Richard (Catherine) Loisel; 8 nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and best friend, Megan Krueger. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Walley; and father, Robert Roteman. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
