Obituary of Gwendolyn Inez Paaloalo

Gwendolyn Inez Paaloalo (nee Brewer), 55, of Zion, IL, passed away at home peacefully on September 10, 2021. Gwen was born August 31, 1966 in Chicago, IL to Herman and Elizabeth Brewer. She graduated from Chicago Vocational School and Columbia College in Chicago. Gwen married Francis Paaloalo on July 7, 1993. She worked at Abbott Laboratories and was a member of the Black Business Network. Gwen was the life of any party. She touched so many lives and always supported those in need. Her quick wit and skillful humor made others love being in her presence. She is loved by many and will truly be missed. Gwendolyn is survived by her loving husband, Francis Paaloalo; children, Francis, Falaniko, Natascha, and Kenny Paaloalo; grandchildren, Aaliyah, Armani, Stephen, Kellynne, Kevyon, and Keaton; siblings, Charles Keys, Herman Brewer, Sandra Martin, Elizabeth Willis-Ford, Audrey Evans, and Sylvia Hall; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; and her close friends Gian, Tisha, and Roxanne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elizabeth Brewer; her sister, Patricia Brewer-Smith. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Saturday September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago.
