Obituary of Albert G. Hernandez

Albert G. Hernandez, 97, of Waukegan, IL passed away peacefully on August 22, 2021 in Zion, IL. Albert was born on August 12, 1924 in Ford City, PA the son of Enrique Hernandez and Eulalia Gomez. Albert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII as Radioman Second Class in the South Pacific. Albert is survived by nieces and nephews, Joseph Hernandez, Enrique (Yvonne) Hernandez, Laura Hernandez, Rebecca (Daryl Fikar) Gonzales, Lisa (James) Blackowicz, and David (Kimberly) Gonzales; many loving great nieces; great nephews; and great, great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Eulalia Hermandez; sisters, Susie Hernandez, Mary (Stanley) Gonzales and Ofelia Hernandez; brother, Joseph Hernandez; and niece, Gloria Hartwig. Visitation will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Catholic Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan, IL 60087. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
