Obituary of William E. Gregory

William E. Gregory, 90, of Gurnee, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021. William was born January 4, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Emmanuel and Ina Gregory. He was a prior resident of North Chicago, IL before moving to Gurnee in 1956. August 5, 1950, he married the love of his life, Martha “Marty” Naylor in Chicago, IL. William was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waukegan where he was active in many activities; he was employed with AT&T Telephone Company as a repairman. William was active with the Boy Scouts of America, volunteered his time with the Peregrine Falcon Release, and was a member of Pioneers, retirees of the phone company. He also enjoyed spending time sailing. William loved to take photos and worked previously as a photographer. William proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. William is survived by his daughter, Carol (Terry) Fuqua; and granddaughter, Sirena M. Chapman. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha “Marty” Gregory; son, William K. Gregory; and parents, Emmanuel and Ina Gregory. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 3350 N. Delany Rd., Waukegan, IL 60087 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
