Obituary of Vivian Faith Hyllberg
Vivian Faith (Hoyt) Hyllberg, age 97, died on August 1, 2021 in Kenosha. She was born April 21, 1924 in Zion, IL to Newton and Harriet Hoyt, the second youngest of seven children. Vivian graduated from Zion-Benton High School in 1942. She worked at Fort Sheridan during WWII and was an extremely fast typist. After marrying, she worked for many years at both the East and West campuses of Waukegan High School retiring after 31 years as the secretary to the principal at Waukegan West High School.
She was very active in her church, Christian Assembly in Zion, as a young person and for most of her life. She was involved in Sunday School, choir and orchestra, singing and playing both the piano and the marimba. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling, reading, socializing with friends and relatives, and discussing politics. She would read as many as five novels in a single week.
She was preceded in death by George, her husband of 60 years, her son Brian, daughter-in-law Inez, her parents, and all of her siblings; Dorothy Archibald, Grace Hoyt, Margaret Ower, Lois Campbell, Earl Hoyt, and James Hoyt.
She is survived by one son, Bruce (Karen) Hyllberg of Gurnee, eight grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Lorna Hoyt of Mobile, AL.
