Obituary of Robert F. Whitworth
Dr. Robert F. Whitworth, Sr. passed unexpectedly at home on Saturday, July 24, 2021. He was the son of the late F. Robert Whitworth and A. Jean Whitworth (Ringkamp) and was born in Gray Summit, Missouri on November 24, 1961.
He considered himself a “Missourian” and had many fond memories of his time there. He committed his life to Jesus Christ at an early age and later became a minister of the gospel. He served churches in Kentucky, Ohio and Illinois. He was united in marriage with Julie Ann Whitworth (Waite) on August 3, 1985 and was a devoted husband. Together they had three children, Alyssa J. Szabo (Joseph), Robert F. Whitworth, Jr. (Taryn) and Alexander L. Whitworth as well as five grandchildren- Ezra Szabo, Luka Szabo, Alaina Whitworth, Kailey Whitworth and Trace (Robert Francis Whitworth, III.) Besides his faith, the most important thing in the world to him was his family.
Rob was a voracious learner who devoured books like a starving man. In the pursuit of learning he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Southwest Baptist University as well as a Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Besides his immediate family he will forever be loved and remembered by his mother Jean Whitworth, four siblings Joan Kelley (Lance), Jim Whitworth (Beth), Kris Sheehan and Shawn Whitworth (Denise). He is also survived by his cousin J.D. Morris (Barb), mother-in-law Pat Ivsac (Larry), sisters in law Lisa Miller (John), Maribeth Delfs (Paul) and Laura Waite as well as many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in Christ . He loved each and every one and took great pleasure and pride in being part of a such a large and loving family.
He enjoyed reading, fishing, history, movies and long walks in the woods with Julie but saved his love for God and his family. Nothing made him happier than to be in the midst of this eclectic group especially if he had a grandchild or five in his lap.
He was preceded in death by his father, F. Robert Whitworth, his aunt and uncle, Donovan and Joan Morris and his brother-in-law, Bobby Sheehan. We can only imagine that reunion.
Visitation is Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 2:00-4:00pm with the memorial service immediately following. All services will be held at The Well, 9001 17th Ave., Kenosha, WI 53143.
