Obituary of Clara Piekal

Clara Josephine Piekal, 89, of Beach Park, died on Friday, September 1, 2006 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan. Clara was born March 27, 1917 in Libertyville. She was a resident of Libertyville for many years and worked for the village until retirement. She resided in Beach Park for the past twelve years and while there volunteered to do work for Midwest Regional Medical Center in Zion. She was also an accomplished pianist, had a great sense of humor and stayed active in the community. Survivors include her husband Marvin; sons Walter R. (Margery) Sitz and Ricky J. (Rebecca) Sitz; grandchildren David, Brian, Richard, Thomas and Andrew; great-granddaughters Lauren and Julia; and one sister Jenny Volosko of Niles, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Fariksa Cichy. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2006 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Assistance in Healthcare Foundation, 2520 Emmaus Avenue, Zion, IL 60099 have been suggested.
