Obituary of Lorene Palmer

Lorene Dorothy Palmer 93, went to be with her Lord on June 22, 2021 in Shabbona, Illinois. She was born to Dorothy May (Carey) LaBelle & Victor Charles LaBelle on October 12, 1927 in Zion, Illinois. She attended Zion Benton Township High School and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1945. She married Charles William Palmer on June 30, 1950.They were members of Grace Missionary Church in Zion, Il until they moved to Pueblo West, Colorado in 1977. They joined Park Hill Baptist Church in Pueblo, Colorado and Lorene started teaching high school at Park Hill Christian Academy in Pueblo, Colorado. She loved teaching and working with her students and she stayed in contact with them long after they graduated. She loved living in Colorado and the view of the mountains she got to enjoy everyday. She said she was closer to God there. She was a Christian and loved the Lord and knew she would be going to heaven to see all of her loved ones again and be singing in the choir in heaven. She is survived by her Son, Larry (Beth) Palmer of Deerfield, IL and her Daughter, Patricia (Arthur) Hrvatin Jr. of Plano, IL and her Daughter - in - law Michelle (Tim) Stenberg of Genoa City, Wisconsin and Son - in - law Loyd Young of Alabama. She is also survived by her 18 Grandchildren: Melissa Staples (Brandon Lovelace), Felicia Young, Matthew (Stacie) Palmer, Deborah (Cesar) Silvano, Joseph (Danielle) Palmer, Hannah (Jaime) Hernandez, Philip (Kristen) Palmer, Sarah (Justin) Lamb, Esther Palmer, Rebekah Palmer, Timothy Palmer, Jessica Palmer (David Pilsen), Jennifer (Alan) Zawislak, Jocelyn (Jim) Jacob, Jeanelle (Will) Huffman, Tauni Price (Dawaun Johnson), Samantha Price (Dan Mullaney), and Michael (Sara) Price. She also had 28 Great - Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Charles William Palmer, her Daughters, Gloria Lynn Palmer & Dianne Lorene Young & her Son, Gere Lee Palmer, her Grandson Ryan Michael Price & her Great Grand Daughter Tirzah Palmer, her Brothers, Victor C. LaBelle, Clifford W. (Kip) LaBelle, Donald LaBelle and her Parents, Victor C. LaBelle and Dorothy M. LaBelle. No services at the Funeral home are planned at this time. Private interment and burial for the family will be on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Home Oak Cemetery in Antioch, Illinois.
