Roland was my Grandfather Cecil Heaven's friend. He was also a friend to my Parents Ralph and Helen Heaven. I remember my parents heading to the Moose catching up with Rose and Roland. Roland was always so kind to me. He made you feel good. Here I am just a kid and he would stop and make a small conversation with me. As I grew up I would catch him in the Bowling Alley and he would always ask me what I was doing and how things were going. When I had my daughter Rachel he would tell me that he thought he was pretty. I was always fond of Roland. My mother died in April, 2005. We had her home for about two weeks before she died. Mom was not getting enough oxygen to her brain and she started alot of rambling. She kept telling me that she was going to the Party and She was getting a new dress and that it was going to be a wonderful party. She told me the people that were going to be a the party and that I couldn't go to the party. So since then I think to myself when someone dies, that they are going to the party. Roland is at the party. God bless..You have my deepest symphathy. Laura Heaven-Ewell

Roland was a wonderful, caring man.I give my heartfelt sympathy to his family on their loss.I met Roland when he first moved to Rolling Hills Assistant living.I am a CNA there and I took care of him all the time.We became fast friends,I will never forget him he will be missed by me, and so many others from Rolling Hills.Even though my buddy had a fall and hurt his back and became sick and had to go to the Manor I always made time to go visit him.I even went and got him in a wheel chair a few times and brought him over to Rolling Hills place to see everyone.I remember one day Roland ans I was talking and some how he said to me he never had a teddy bear I brought him one it was a blue bear and he thought that was something he named the bear Charlie he used to keep it on his dresser with his hat on it,He once had it in his bed covered up it was funny I had to take a picture of it,and a picture of it with Roland I will always keep those photos in rememberence of him.I seen him last friday august 25th before I left he kissed me on the forhead I think back now and in my heart wonder while he passed 3 days later if he was telling me good bye.I work with the elderly every day and enjoy it but I never thought I would grow so close to a wonderful caring soul as I found in my dear friend Roland.I pray he is with peace and I know he is in heaven he sure earned his wings hes a heavenly angel I pray one day as my day comes ill meet my wonderful friend again some day. Carol I always like your dad. He was a softie on the inside. I'll always remember him taking us up to the lake and never asking why we smelled like cigars! Love ya, kid.
