Obituary of Joseph Allen Palmer Jr.

Joseph Allen Palmer Jr, 84, of Zion, IL passed away on May 23, 2021 in Kenosha, WI. He was born on June 10, 1936 in Bismark, North Dakota the son of Joseph Allen Palmer Sr. and Evelyn Dorothea Bergenski. He was formerly of Linwood, Nebraska where he graduated Linwood High school. He married Chiaki Imazeki on October 5, 1970 in Waukegan, Illinois. Joseph retired from the Navy in 1980 and then worked as head of maintenance at Health Care Center Sheridan Health until 2006. He was a member of the VFW in Winthrop Harbor. He is survived by his children; Patricia Palmer, Joseph Palmer; grandchildren, Breanna Herstedt, Henry Herstedt, Savannah Herstedt, Joey Palmer, Christiahn Pivovar; one great-grandchild; sister Joella Paces. Joseph is preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters Gail Codr, Pauline Gandy. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home located at 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, Illinois 60099 interment will be private.
