Obituary of Richard L. McGinnis

Richard L McGinnis, 70, of Winthrop Harbor, died at home on Monday, May 3rd, 2021. He was born in Ithaca New York to Lila and Richard. The family moved to Elyria Ohio when he was 5 years old where he spent his youth, graduating from Elyria High School in 1967. Richard graduated from Ohio State University where he met his wife, Elizabeth. In 1979 they moved to Chicago where he worked as a Systems Analyst. In 1986, he created his own company, Caber Software, that developed and marketed communication software. Richard loved to scuba dive, play chess, read, and play piano. He loved taking walks in the woods and slow dancing with his wife of 46 years. He is survived by his sister Leslie and brother Ben. He his preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ralph. Services to take place in Ohio later this year.
