Alfonso Leonidas Unda Zambrano
Alfonso Leonidas Unda Zambrano, 77 years old, died on August 6, 2006 at Sheridan Health Care Center, Zion after a long-term coma.
Alfonso was born February 14, 1929 in Javier Loyola, Ecuador. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raphael and Angelita Unda of Ecuador, and a younger sister Maria Beatriz Unda. He is survived by his son Raphael Unda Maldonado and Grandchildren Raphael Alfonso, Jered and Joseph Unda of Waukegan; brothers and sisters Rapheal Cisneros, Segundo Manuel, Teresa del Nio Jesus of Ecuador; Lilia Ines, Carlos Ivan, Simon Bolivar, Piedad de los Angeles of Waukegan; uncle of Monika Patricia, Lucia del Pilar, Ruth Nathaly, Belinda, Franklin, Miltton, Patricio, Angelita and David of Waukegan; Freddy Omar of Chicago; Giovanna Loreley of Florida; Vivianna and Milenna Yvonne of Skokie, IL; Pablo of Oak Park; Danny, Melissa, Johanna of Puerto Rico; Paulina, Fernando, Ivan II, Jackeline, Tatianna, Carolina, Alba Azucena and Blanca of Quito. Alfonso was a mix of John Wayne, Anthony Quinn and the Great Houdini.
A ritual act of cremation was done at the request of his family members. Visitation and a funeral Ash Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church at West Street and Grand Ave. Waukegan. A second visitation and funeral Ash Mass will be held on Sunday August 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Sheridan Health Care Center 2534 Elim Ave. Zion.
