Timothy Semm

Obituary of Timothy Dale Semm

Timothy (Tim) Semm, 74, passed away on March 8, 2021 at 5:10 p.m. at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. He was born in Beloit, WI on March 22, 1946, the son of Irene and Gerald Semm. Even though he was born in WI he lived in Illinois most of his life attending Waukegan elementary schools and graduating from Waukegan Township High School in 1964. Tim was drafted into the U.S. Army and was inducted on Feb 6, 1967 and served until 1969. Tim and Sue Petrovic were married on Sept 2, 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan, IL. Tim worked for Dexter-Midland/Akzo-Nobel for thirty-three years. He had a very strong work ethic and always gave his best to his job. He retired on April 1, 2008. We added a “man cave” to the garage and that is where he loved to spend his time. Tim also helped with projects at North Avenue Tap for the owner and good friend, Jimmy Wilson. After Jimmy passed Tim took David Wilson, “under his wing” to show him some the ropes pertaining to the business. That is the type of man Tim was always wanting to help people but never asking for help. He is survived by his wife Sue (Petrovic) Semm of 53 years, son Mark and “daughter” in-law, Meg, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Ryan (who knew him as “PaPa”) all from North Carolina, sister, Anna Mae Rick from North Carolina, brother, Lee (Sally) from Michigan and brother, Randy (Diane) from Wisconsin and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great great nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Gerald and brother-in-law, Jack Rick. A “Celebration of Life” will be at a later date. Donations may be made in Tim’s name to: Gary Sinise Foundation, P.O. Box 368, Woodland Hills, CA 91365
