Obituary of James William Walker Jr.

James “Jim” W. Walker Jr. 69, after a long hard fight and never giving up over the years, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, WI. He was born on May 15, 1951 at Great Lakes Naval, Hospital. The son of James W. Sr. and Marcella (nee. Cena) Walker. He went to Waukegan high school then shortly after married his wife Pamela Flamme on March 31, 1973. Jim worked as a Waukegan Police Officer until injured and then became a Mr. mom. Later he worked part time for Zion Benton bus company as a bus aide, until his health started to fail. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Jim was very passionate in taking an active parts in all their activities and sports. He enjoyed family vacations and loved Amtrak train trips. Jim enjoyed spending time outside waiting for the trains and waiving as they passed the house. He enjoyed listening to Christian music and radio sermons at night before bed. He had great times with his immediate family, relatives, and his lifelong friends. He is survived by his loving wife Pamela, son Rob (Alanna) Walker, and daughter Jennifer Walker, five grandchildren; Cheyenne, Tyler, Aaden, Richard, and Robyn. He is preceded in death by his parents. While all prayers are greatly appreciated, he continued to reassure us all till the end, “No tears and only happiness.” We would like to give a special thanks to the Aurora I.C.U unit, and Davita Dialysis in Waukegan for all Jim’s care. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral home located at 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL 60099. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.
