Obituary of Hermando Richardson
Hermando Jerral Richardson departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the age of 62. Jerral, as he was called by so many, was born in Greensboro, NC on September 9, 1958 to Jessie and the late Herman Richardson. He graduated from North East High School of McCleansville, NC. He later attended Ambassador College in Pasadena, CA., Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Jerral was a man of many gifts and talents. Having excelled as an athlete, he practiced with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and qualified for the 1980 Olympic Trials for the 400-meter dash. Additionally, he coached youth track and football. As a singer, he sang for Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential run. As an artist, he created beautiful works of art through drawing, painting, and
sculpture, and he loved to build furniture and remodel homes. He also served on the Executive Board of the Urban League of Kenosha and Racine where he was overseeing the revitalization and maintenance of the building.
In 2013, Jerral started his own company, “Paradigm Innovative Technologies, LLC” in Kenosha, WI. Paradigm Innovative Technologies was a developer of automation equipment, and was also a small design firm providing contract services to companies developing new products. Among his many creations he designed and built a new type of conveyor system for factory automation and a novel pharmaceutical pill dispenser. He was granted US Patents 7,56,836 and 20,100,140,287.
Above all, Jerral had a compassionate heart, enthusiastic smile, and joy for life even in the face of its many challenges. He always held a vision for his life, and he took steps towards that vision every day. He was a living example of passion, determination, courage, and perseverance.
Jerral leaves cherished memories with his loving wife: Angie Richardson; three children: Tia Richardson of Milwaukee, WI; Brandon Richardson (Enhao) of San Francisco, CA; Jeremy Richardson (Gigi) of Hawaii; and two step-children: Carl Buck of Milwaukee, WI; and Cairen Buck of Atlanta, GA; one grandchild: August Richardson; six siblings: Warren (Teresa) Richardson of Brown Summit, NC, Enola (Doug) Foust of Princeton, WV; Linda Andrews (Lamont) of Kannapolis, NC; Alice Jones (Matthew) of Fort Washington, MD; Vanetta Busch (William) of Racine, WI; and Michael Richardson of Brown Summit; one ex-wife: Stephanie Richardson of Milwaukee, WI. He was blessed with an extended family of in-laws: Valeria Benton (Percy) of New Orleans, LA; Sandrus Davis and Vincent Chadwick of Waukegan, IL; one mother-in-law: Rheola G.
Russ of Kenosha, WI; two special brothers: James Hall and Irvin Williams of Kenosha, WI; and two living aunts and uncles: Helen Milton and Fred Slade of Greensboro, NC.
Jerral was preceded in death by aunts and uncles: Wilbert Richardson (Mary Etta) and Dorthea Richardson of Brown Summit, NC; John Willie Milton (Helen) of Greensboro, NC, Christine Florence (Beatle) of Orville, Oh, David Lee Milton (Shirley), George Milton, Walter Milton (Mildred), Annie Mae Slade (Fred), and Donnie Marshall (Gloria) of Greensboro. He was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great aunts and uncles and an abundance of friends.
