Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Weil

Mary Elizabeth (Davis, Pierson) Weil, 82, of Zion, IL, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021. Defined by her immense faith in God and love of her family, Mary was surrounded by her children and grandchildren the days before her death. Mary was born October 6, 1938 to Harry and Elena (Cunliffe-Owen) Davis in Zion, IL. Honored to have been crowned Circus Queen, Mary graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1956 and married Wayne Pierson. Together they had four children. Later in life, Mary met and married George Weil. Mary had a strong faith and was a member of CrossWay Community Church in Bristol, WI. Over the years she worked at Jewel in Waukegan and for Larsen Marine. She was an active member of the Red Hats, the Gideons Auxiliary, and her church Care Group for over 27 years. She often recounted her memories traveling the world, sharing her experiences from over 20 countries she visited. An avid reader, in her spare time, Mary enjoyed gardening, movies, photography and giving to various missions. Baking brownies, cooking and playing Rummikub with her family brought her immeasurable joy. Mary is survived by her children, Ronda Pierson of Chicago, IL, Philip (Denise) Pierson of Kenosha, WI, Tom (Meganne) of Bristol, WI, and Lana (Jeff Jr.) Stanich of Pleasant Prairie, WI; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marciel (Roy) Toomay of Garden Grove, CA, Ellen (Stan) Schmidt of Beach Park, Rachel Yarborough of Winthrop Harbor, and Carol (George) Weber of Beach Park. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Marie Miller, Harry Davis, Dorothy Davis, Paul Davis, Phyllis Stonick, Iris Dries, Carl Butz, Barbara Fieberg, Joseph Davis, Phillip Davis, James Davis, and Edith Ruth; and an infant granddaughter, Sarah Pierson. A private burial was held for immediate family. A Memorial Service for Mary is scheduled for July 17, 2021 at Crossway Community Church, 12905 75th Street, Bristol, WI 53104. Visitation with the family begins at 1pm, immediately followed by a The Celebration of Life Ceremony from 2-2:30pm.
