Obituary of Susan Marie Petty

Susan Marie Petty (neé Ehle), 68, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2020 in Muskego, WI. Susan was born January 1, 1953 in Waukegan, IL. She graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1971 and married James Petty on August 19, 1972 at the Christian Catholic Church in Zion. Sue worked at The Oak Room Grille in Zion, the Bank of Zion, Foremost Liquors in Winthrop Harbor, Snyder Clark and Fouts Law firm in Waukegan, Winthrop Harbor Port District and the Waukegan Port District from where she retired. She and her husband enjoyed bowling on local leagues, flights in his airplane, scuba diving and skiing. They took motorcycle rides together and loved to fish with their good friends. Sue helped with the Zion Dolphins Swim teams bake sales when her children were on the team. She loved animals and donated to the local shelters as much as possible. Her down time was spent sewing and crafting, she also loved to read and cherished her time with her grandchildren. Susan is survived by her children, Nanette (Jason) Bruch, and Andrew (Amanda) Petty; grandchildren, Jadon, Kadon and Aneliese Bruch, and Archer, Adler, Allegra, and Allaria Petty; brothers, Raymond Ehle, James Ehle, and Daniel (Barb) Ehle; and many nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Petty; parents, Archie Mac Lean Ehle and Dorothy Agnes (neé Cwik) Ehle. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.
