Rose Rita Simon entered her eternal reward on January 22, 2021. She passed away at her home in Zion, IL after a brave battle with cancer. Rose was born on March 17, 1950 during a daytime snowstorm in Ashford, WI to her loving parents, Benno and Laurine Stoffel Simon. She attended grades 1-8 at St. Martin’s Catholic School in Ashford. She then obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Education at Evangel College of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, MO. Rose spent her entire life caring for and sharing Jesus’ message of love to all that she met. She didn’t want anyone to face an eternity outside of Christ. This began in her twenties, when at 27 she went to Wiesbaden, Germany to work with the U.S. G.I.s at a Teen Challenge Center. Upon her return, Rose taught at a Christian School in Boston, MA. In 1980 Rose found her home with the Zion Faith Homes, where she completed her ministerial training and became a staff member in 1982. She was ordained to the ministry in 1987 and she remained a minister until her retirement in 2020. Rose’s joy was contagious and she lived life to the fullest. Her great love for the Lord was an inspiration to everyone she met. She was a mentor and friend to so many over the years. She is grammy to some, Aunty Rose to others and trusted co-worker to many.
