Obituary of Edith Kedrow
Edith “Pep” Irene Kedrow, 92, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away peacefully, on Friday, November 27, 2020 in Kenosha.
Edith was born September 5, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Hans and Louise Rieken. She was a previous resident of Brookfield, WI, Springfield, PA and Arlington Heights, IL. She graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Chicago, a member of Christ Community Church in Zion and Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookfield. She was also involved with the American Youth Hostels (AYH) and the Prairie Club of Chicago.
Pep was a talented and trained opera singer who chose to be a wife and mother than pursue a professional singing career. She volunteered as nurse's assistant at Swanson Elementary School in Brookfield, WI., active church member at Calvary Lutheran and as a Scout Den Mother.
Edith is survived by her sons, James M. Kedrow and Richard P. Kedrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbert M. Kedrow; granddaughter, Rachel J. Kedrow; daughter-in-law, Kimberly (nee Blass) Kedrow; and brother, Frank Robert “Bob” Rieken.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion, IL 60099 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
