I just saw your beloved mother's beautiful smile in the paper and learned that she has passed on. My heart breaks for you at your loss, but I know that you have so many great memories that will keep you until you meet again. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time, and that I am here for you.
I just had to chuckle as it came to mind that I should be "useful, not just ornamental". I hope that brings you a smile. I so loved hearing your family stories, you are truly a pleasure.
