Obituary of Robert "Bob" Traver
Robert (Bob) James Traver, 63 of Zion, IL passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 in his home unexpectedly. In 2000, Robert (Bob) was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease(PKD) and was on dialysis. In September, 2005 he had a kidney transplant which continued to function for 15 years due to his determination and stubbornness to continue to live life.
He was born in 1957 in Waukegan,IL to Marion Traver. He attended school in Zion, IL and married his high school sweetheart Patricia (Patty) McLaughlin on September 13, 1975 in Waukegan, IL. Bob had worked many years with Laborers Local 152.
Anything outdoors-he was all about it! Like ATVing, scuba diving, boating, motorcycle trips, camping, horseback riding and fishing. Robert loved his sons and grandchildren. G-Pop enjoyed showing off pictures of his grandkids! He also loved their many dogs and treated them as family. Many memories will forever be cherished by his family.
In addition to his wife Patty, he is survived by three children; Robert (Laura) Traver of Temecula, CA, Joey Traver of Zion, IL and Jeremy (Dominique) Traver of Kenosha, WI; 8 grandchildren; Cambrie, Shayla, Peyton, Orren, Keegan, Eadynn, Kyleigh, Juliana; two sisters, Norene (Steve) Beck of Blair, WI and Yolanda (James) Huffman of Reedsburg, WI; three brothers, Dale (Rosella) Rathman of Zion, IL, John (Teresa) Rathman of Baraboo,WI and Daniel (Shelly) Rathman of WI Dells, WI; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Mom, Marion Rathman.
