Obituary of Bernard Merson

Bernard E. Merson, 69, passed away July 23, 2020 at Vista East Hospital in Waukegan, IL. Bernard was born September 22, 1950 at University Hospital Baltimore City, MD to Herbert L. Merson and Agnes C. Nichols. He graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School and worked many years as a machinist. He formerly resided in Maryland, Connecticut, and Missouri before making Illinois his permanent home. He was a devout member of Christ Community Church in Zion, IL. Bernard served his country through the United States Air Force and he frequently volunteered at the local VA Hospital. Bernard is survived by his step-children, Tim Henson & Chris Henson; his step-mother, Mary Merson; his brother, Kenneth (Mona) Merson, step-brother, John (Cheryl) Agnew; his sisters, Hailey Merson & Faith Merson; his step-sister, Carol (Steve) Cosby; and 3 nieces. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert L. Merson & Agnes C. Nichols; his sister, June M. (Slight) Percy; his brother, Robert Merson; and his step-brother, Frank Agnew. At this time, Services will be private for the family.
