Obituary of Helen Baker
Helen Fern Baker, 87, of Zion, died on Friday, July 14, 2006 in Zion.
She was born September 20, 1918 in Zion and lived most of her life in Zion. She worked for many years at the Zion Curtain Factory for the Zion Industries, leaving there in 1970 to work independently out of her home making draperies for various designers.
Survivors include her children, Richard Baker of Zion and Connie (Stetoslav "Steve" Bonev) Wells of Palatine, Illinois; four grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Krishna Wells, Rana Raeuchle and Elaine (Hakan) Wells-Emden; and one great-grandson, Allen Raeuchle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in March of 2006; six siblings, Homer, Carl, Lawrence, Naomi, Blanche and Alma; and her parents, Karl and Mable Wortham.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Benton-Greenwood Cemetery in Benton Township, with Pastor David Denlinger of Zion Bible Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Zion Bible Church, 2633 Emmaus Avenue, Zion, IL 60099 have been suggested.
